My thoughts on whether to move back to India or not were revolving around a conversation I had with a salesman at appliance store today.
This store is located in Gachibowli neighborhood, a different branch of the same store is located in Jubilee Hills, at least an hour's drive away given the traffic.

Me: Are you sure you have the appliance in stock? I need it right now, technician is standing by to install. If you don't have it in stock, I will go elsewhere. It is that urgent.

Salesman: Yes ma'm! It is in stock! Just sign here and pay this amount. You can have it in five minutes.
(I pay the bill, sign the paperwork for warranty etc. Sit and wait for the appliance to be brought to the front. Ten minutes later...)
Salesman: Ma'm, you are all set, the appliance will be delivered first thing tomorrow.
Me: What?! It needs to be installed this afternoon. I need it delivered now or need my money back.
Salesman: It is in Jubilee Hills. Please wait for five minutes ma'm, I will talk to my manager.
(Fifteen minutes later, I find the salesman walking along the corridor and visibly avoiding me. I confront him.)
Salesman: Manager was eating lunch.
Me: Manager is not going to make the appliance appear here in Gachibowli by magic. I need it delivered in the next two hours directly from Jubilee Hills or need refund.
Salesman: Yes ma'm. OK ma'm. Sorry ma'm.
(I give my address and phone number. And just as I get ready to leave the showroom...)
Salesman: Ma'm, give me money for gas.
Me: Gas for what?
Salesman: For the drive from Jubilee hills.

Salesman: For the drive from Jubilee hills.
I swore (under my breath). A lousy -.
