Travel Diaries: Hyderabad Day-4

It is Varslakshmi Vratam. First one spent with family since Raaga's birth. Women all around town dressed up- beautiful traditional outfits, jewelry, flowers. Street markets kept buzzing till late at night. Ladies at home have been busy decking the house up. Banana saplings and flower arrangements appeared overnight. My kid woke up saying she smelled pulihora (tamarind rice). She was all dressed up and joined the other ladies in singing our song- the one my mother-in-law always sings.

Despite the absolutely miserable Hyderabad traffic and consistently unreliable customer service, the festive atmosphere and time spent with family takes the cake today. A big +.
