In memory of Sri. Mandala Prabhakara Ramamurthy and Smt. Mandala Vijaya Lakshmi:
May 19th, 1968: They were united in matrimony on this day, 53 years ago.
May 10th, 2021: They left this world, together, 10 days ago.
To them, their daughter’s always a princess, and their son, with his infinite freedom, could do no wrong. They never treated their daughter-in-law and son-in-law any different from their daughter and son. Their pride shot up to stratosphere whenever they spoke of their four grandchildren. Throughout the ebbs and flows of life, this couple never once argued, never disparaged each other. They always held each other in highest regard and prioritized being together with each other over everything else. She declined a surgery for her deteriorating eyes just because it would keep her from seeing him for weeks. He fought a debilitating virus for six years with his sheer will power, just to continue to be by her side.
Even when the dreaded Covid hit them, they shared their pain, every step of the way. She got hospitalized for hypotension, he followed suit with desaturation. She got tired of the fight with the virus and left this world on Monday, May 10th. He took her lead, and breathed his last on the same day, just a few hours later. They were staunch devotees of lord Siva, and it was only fitting that they passed on a Monday, that too on one that happened to be Masa Sivarathri (the special night of the month celebrating lord Siva). They stayed together for over five decades of their marriage. Even death could not do them part. Their relationship is textbook for perfect marriage. We find solace in their memories and unconditional love.
We will be performing their rituals on Monday, May 24th as per Hindu traditions. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for our family as we grieve this insurmountable loss.
Sincerely,
Lavanya (Ammani- Daughter), Giridhar (Son-in-law), Vihaan, and Aadya Sirigudi
Bhaskar (Bobby-Son), Jyothy (Daughter-in-law), Raaga, and Taara Mandala
